Action Centres — Overview

Configure live tables to search, filter, edit and export cases, data, posts, goals, forms and finances.

ID:
158

Action Centres are live, table-style views into your SwiftFox database that you can filter, sort, edit (where enabled), and export. They are the central hub for reporting on, and taking action with, your data — bringing operational work (cases, finance, forms, goals/CPD, lists, posts) together into configurable areas and sections in the left sidebar so teams can monitor records and act on them at scale.

Depending on your subscription, some default Action Centres may already be included in your account.

What an Action Centre does

Each Action Centre presents records from your SwiftFox database in a table you can work with directly. Across every type you can:

  • Search the records in the table.
  • Filter to narrow the table to the records you care about.
  • Sort by any column.
  • Pin or hide columns to focus the view.
  • Edit in-table — for the fields that have been made editable.
  • Export to CSV for use outside SwiftFox.

Because every Action Centre reads live from your database, the data is always current — there is no separate refresh or rebuild step.

Core building blocks

  • Areas — top-level groupings shown in the left sidebar. Each area has its own icon and URL path.
  • Sections — folders inside an area that group related Action Centres together.
  • Action Centres — the individual table views. Each has a type that determines what data it shows and which settings are available.
  • Permissions — per-Action-Centre access for users or user groups: Full, View & Edit, or View Only.

Action Centre types at a glance

  • Cases — system-wide case hub; filter, open, and edit cases and add posts, tasks and comments.
  • Data Table — unifies one People/Organisation data table across all profiles (a profile may appear on multiple rows).
  • Posts — a table of all posts with date and tag filters.
  • Goals — a per-person summary of goals/CPD targets, points and progress.
  • Goal Activities — the detailed, activity-level view behind goals/CPD, with approvals.
  • Form Responses — a table of submissions for a chosen form, with selected questions as columns.
  • Financial — Batch — process and export batch payments through a payment provider.
  • Financial — Invoices — view all invoices, with optional MYOB exports.
  • Financial — Payroll Deduction — process deductions and track historical batches.
  • Financial — Receipts — view all receipts with status, method and line-type filters.
  • Financial — Receipt Summary — totals paid per contact across a defined period.
  • List Builder — start from a saved list (live or fixed), add extra columns (including custom fields), mark columns editable, and optionally publish as a website/member-portal directory.

Where Action Centres live

Action Centres appear as areas in the left sidebar and as tabs at the top of the Action Centres screen. Within each area, sections (folders) group the individual Action Centres. The whole experience uses the standard SwiftFox table and permissions interfaces, so it works the way the rest of the platform does.

To start using Action Centres, an administrator first enables Action Centre Management for the relevant user group; the Action Centres settings page then appears under Features. See Creating an Action Centre (generic flow) & permissions for the full setup steps.
