Previously, we built financial plans and subscriptions from the ground up. Now it's time to add some pricing flexibility to the mix with discounts and surcharges. Because who doesn't love a good discount? Or at least the option to add a processing fee when needed.

Plan add-ons live in a dedicated section within your financial settings. To access them go to Settings, then under Financial select Plan add-ons.This is where you find all your add-ons to manage or create new ones.

Add-ons are discounts and surcharges, but are universal and can be applied to any or all plans. When assigned to a plan they aren't automatically applied, but rather become available to select when applying a plan and fee.

Let's start with discounts. To create a discount, select Add Item, then choose Discount. Name your discount something clear like “Concession”. For the interval, choose which billing cycle it applies to weekly, monthly, or leave it empty to apply to any interval, under add-on type and amount. Select either fixed amount or percentage. In this example, we'll make it a 10% discount.

You can set optional limits such as total units and per subscription limits. Under Link plans, select which plans have access to this discount. You can choose one or multiple plans. Alternatively, you can add the discount to the plan from the plan settings. It works both ways. Finally, select save to create your discount.

Creating surcharges works the same way as discounts, except the amount is added on top of this plan fee rather than subtracted, and optionally set the same interval, restrictions and limits. Link eligible plans as you would for discounts, then save. You can also link add-ons directly from a plan's edit draw under the Discounts and Surcharges section.
