Tasks let you assign and track the actions needed to resolve a case. A task created inside a case is linked to that case and also surfaces in the standard Tasks areas of SwiftFox.

Add a task to a case

  1. Open the case to show the case drawer (click the case row in Case Management, or open it from a profile's Cases tab).
  2. Switch to the Tasks tab.
  3. Enter a Task name.
  4. Optionally set a Due date (date and time).
  5. Under Assign to, choose a User or a Team, then search for and select the assignee.
  6. Optionally set Permissions (Sharing permissions) to control who can view or edit the task.
  7. Click Create.

Where the task appears

A task created in a case shows up in more than one place:

  • In the Tasks menu (the global Tasks module).
  • On the assignee's homepage.
  • In the task table, with a Linked To column that references the case it belongs to.

Notes

  • The Linked To column is how you trace a task back to its originating case from the global Tasks view.
  • Tasks can be assigned to a SwiftFox user or a team — contacts cannot be assigned.
