Sharing permissions across folder, table, column and row

Projects uses the standard SwiftFox permissions model, and you can apply it at four levels of granularity: folder, project (table), column and row. This lets you control exactly who can see and change each part of your data.

Permission levels you can grant

• Full access — view, edit and manage, including permissions.
• View & edit — view and change the data, without managing permissions.
• View only — see the data but not change it.

You assign these to individual users or to groups.

The four scopes

• Folder — set permissions on a whole Project folder via the folder's three dots (⋯).
• Project (table) — set permissions on an entire table via the three dots (⋯) next to the table name.
• Column — set permissions on a single column via the column header's three dots (⋯).
• Row — set permissions on a single row via the row's three dots (⋯).

Set permissions

1. Decide the scope — folder, project (table), column or row.
2. Click the relevant three dots (⋯) — on the folder, the table name, the column header, or the row.
3. Select Sharing permissions to open the SwiftFox permissions menu.
4. Add the users or groups you want to grant access to.
5. Assign each one Full access, View & edit or View only.
6. Click Apply.

Tips

• Set broad access at the folder level, then tighten it on specific tables, columns or rows that hold sensitive data.
• Use View only for stakeholders who need visibility but should not change records, and View & edit for the team doing the work.
