Contextual task creation (Events, Posts & Projects)

As well as creating tasks on the Tasks screen, you can create them in context from Events, Posts (Activity Feed), and Projects. A contextually created task stays visible in its originating area and is also accessible from the Tasks table, where the icon in the Linked to column opens the source.

Create a task from an Event

1. Open the Event.
2. Go to the final step of the event, Overview, and open the Tasks tab.
3. Click Create a task, fill in the task aligned to the event, and click Create.
4. The task remains visible within the Event and also appears in the Tasks table. Click the icon in the Linked to column to open the Event from there.

Create a task from a Post (Activity Feed)

1. Open the relevant Post from the Activity Feed.
2. Click the Tasks icon on the post, then Create a task, and click Create.
3. The task stays visible in the Post area and also appears in the Tasks table, with a link back to the Post.

Create a task from a Project

1. In Projects, locate the relevant row.
2. Click the Tasks icon on that row to open the Project Row panel, then click Create a task.
3. Click Create. The task is tied to that Project row and is accessible from Tasks, where the Linked to icon opens the row.

How linkage works

• Contextually created tasks keep a persistent link to their source object.
• They appear both in the source area (the Event, Post, or Project) and in the central Tasks table.
• In the Tasks table, an icon in the Linked to column shows the task came from another object.
• Click that icon to open the source in a side panel. Clicking the row itself opens the task's own details instead.
