When should I use "Add/Update Contact" vs "Question" blocks?
Use the Add/Update Contact block to write answers into profile fields (default or custom). Use Question blocks for one-off survey answers that should not update the profile.
How does contact matching work?
The Add/Update Contact block defaults to First Name, Last Name and Email — SwiftFox uses these to match. If unmatched, a new contact is created; if matched, the submission is linked to the existing contact.
Can I prefill options for custom fields?
Yes. When you Add Field (custom), the pre-configured options from that field are pulled into the form automatically.
How do I only show a follow-up question when needed?
Use Conditional Settings on a question: choose the trigger question, define the required operator/value, and the follow-up only appears when that condition is met.
What if my form totals $0 (free or fully discounted)?
In Payment Method → Advanced, enable "Don't ask for payment details if total is $0".
How do I take payments and create subscriptions?
Add a Subscription block (select Available Plans, Default Status, Auto-renew options). Pair it with a Payment Method block to select gateway(s), discount codes, fees, and invoicing (choose Xero under Integrations if used).
Can I let members pay outstanding balances?
Yes. Use the Account Payment block to show an account statement/summary and allow pay-off, including subscriptions and arrears.
What's the best way to embed a form on our website?
Use Add to Website (iframe) and set the height to remove scrollbars. For Umbraco, use the Form ID with the SwiftFox Form block for native styling.
Where do I see responses and reports?
In Step 2 → Report for totals and per-question summaries; Feed for the post stream; the Home Activity Feed for global posts; and Person Profile → Posts for individual submissions.
Do I need Add/Update Contact if sending via the email builder?
No. Email tracking identifies the recipient via the unique link; you can use only Question blocks.
How do I export all responses historically?
On the Forms list, use the download icon on the form's row (or Export responses in Step 2 – Preview & Publish). Each row is a submission; each column is a question.
My Subscription block shows no plans — why?
Plans must be configured in your SwiftFox account first; once configured, they appear in Available Plans.
How do redirects work after submission?
Add a URL Redirect block (commonly on the Success page) and choose whether to open in the same frame, new tab, parent frame, or full window.
Can I embed JavaScript in a form?
No. SwiftFox Forms uses its own form builder, which does not accept custom code. You cannot add JavaScript or other scripting to a SwiftFox form.
