Auto top-up is a rule that automatically adds a configured amount to your wallet whenever the balance falls below a threshold you set, so your balance is always ready when you need it.
Configuring auto top-up
- On the Wallet settings, scroll down to the Auto Top-Up card.
- In the When balance is below field, enter the trigger threshold (for example, 25).
- In the Add field, enter the amount to top up (for example, 60).
- Watch the breakdown beneath the form — it live-updates with GST and Stripe processing fees so you can see the total cost.
- Click the Card dropdown and select the card you want to charge.
- (Optional) Toggle Email Receipts on, then enter the email address that should receive every receipt.
- (Optional) Click the End Date picker and choose a date if you only want auto top-up to run for a limited period.
- Click Save.
A confirmation message appears and the Auto Top-Up card now shows your saved settings. From now on, SwiftFox automatically charges the nominated card and tops up your wallet whenever a send takes the balance below the threshold.
Selecting a payment card
Auto top-up uses a single nominated card. If you have multiple saved cards, choose the one you want from the Card dropdown. To add a new card, see Managing payment cards.
Email receipts and end dates
- Email receipts — when enabled, a copy of every auto top-up receipt is emailed to the address you provide. This is useful for keeping a complete record of all top-ups.
- End date — set an end date if you only want auto top-ups to run for a limited period (for example, during a specific campaign). Leave it blank to run indefinitely.
When auto top-up fires
Auto top-ups are triggered at the moment a send reduces your balance below the threshold. They are only processed when a balance check fails — not on a fixed schedule. If you see the balance go low without a top-up, either no send has occurred since, or the rule is disabled or past its end date.
Stopping auto top-up
Open the Auto Top-Up section and do one of the following:
- Disable the feature.
- Set an end date.
- Reduce the threshold to zero.
Saved changes take effect immediately.
If auto top-up fails
Auto top-up failures are typically caused by an expired or declined card. Click Manage Wallet, open the Cards tab, and confirm the nominated card is current. Add a new card if needed, then update the Auto Top-Up settings to use it.
Auto top-up applies to the wallet as a whole, not per channel — a single rule (threshold and amount) covers all usage drawn from that wallet.
