You can surface a dashboard widget on your Home screen, so the metric appears on your landing page rather than only inside the dashboard.
A note on wording
The product uses two words for the same thing in this one flow, which is worth knowing before you start:
- The control on the widget is called add to home screen.
- The dialog it opens asks you to "Choose a space to import the widget to", and its button reads Add to space.
- When it succeeds, the confirmation reads "Widget added to home screen".
The spaces in that dropdown are the tabs across the top of Home — your own (My homepage, listed in the dialog as My space) plus any shared ones your account has, such as Communication, Membership or Events. So "space" and "home page" mean the same destination here.
Add a widget step by step
- Open the dashboard in Dashboard Centre.
- Hover over the widget's top-right to reveal its controls, then click the add to home screen icon.
- The dialog Choose a space to import the widget to opens. Use the Space dropdown to pick the destination.
- Click Add to space.
- A confirmation reads Widget added to home screen.
Open Home and select that tab to see it. The widget is titled with the dashboard it came from and the widget's own name — for example Membership Statistics CI - Membership growth per month per category — so you can tell where a metric originated once several are side by side.
Notes
- Pick the space deliberately. Shared spaces are visible to other people in your organisation, so a widget added to one is not just for you. My space is your own tab.
- The destination list is the Home tab list. If a space you expect is missing from the dropdown, it is missing from Home too.
- If a widget you have added does not load on Home, that widget isn't supported there — raise it with your account manager, who can ask for support to be enabled.
