Login Access controls how members sign in to the Login portal. From here you decide whether members can identify themselves with an additional ID beyond their email address, and which record field is used to display organisation details inside the portal. Members sign in using passwordless login, so there are no member passwords to manage or reset.

How members sign in (passwordless login)

The Login portal uses passwordless login. Rather than setting and remembering a password, a member enters their identifier (their email address, and the Secondary ID if you have configured one) and is sent a secure single-use link to complete sign-in. This removes the need for password resets and reduces support overhead.

An account can have both an email address and a mobile number registered as login details (the setup screen provides separate email and mobile selectors), so members and guests aren't limited to just one identifier. The portal also keeps a member signed in while they're active — it only logs them out after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Choosing a Secondary ID

A Secondary ID lets members log in using a familiar identifier in addition to their email address — for example a member number. Configuring a Secondary ID is useful where members are more likely to know their membership number than the exact email address on file.

Choosing the organisation details field

You can also choose which record field is used to display organisation details in the portal. This determines how a member's linked organisation information is surfaced when they sign in.

Set the Secondary ID and organisation field

  1. Go to Settings → Features → Login Portal → Login Access.
  2. Choose the Secondary ID for portal login from the dropdown (for example, member number).
  3. Click Save.
  4. Choose the record field used to display organisation details in the portal.
  5. Save your changes.

Permissions

Configuring Login Access requires the Membership Portal permission in Settings → Users & access → User groups. If the Login Portal section is not visible, ask your system administrator to grant access.

Notes & gaps to verify

  • The exact passwordless login flow (link expiry, what the member sees on the sign-in screen) is not fully detailed in the source material and should be confirmed against the live product.
  • The full list of fields available as a Secondary ID and as the organisation details field should be verified in-product.
