In this quick session, we're going to walk through the fundamentals of managing your website using Umbraco CMS. Whether you're tweaking a homepage banner or launching a whole new section, this step by step guide will help you do it confidently and without breaking anything important. Let's go!

First up, logging in your head to your website's backend by going to your domain.com/umbraco. Pop in your login details and hit log in. This is your command centre, where everything from text to images to pages gets managed. You don't need to be a developer to use it. Just a little curious.

Once you're in, take a look at the left hand menu. You'll see your entire website laid out like a big tree. Each folder or page is a different part of your site. Think of this as your digital site map. If you want to change something, this is where you start. Click into any page like your home page and you'll see the layout made up of content blocks.

Want to update some wording? Just click on the text, edit it like you would in a word doc and then hit Save and Publish. Updating content keeps your site fresh, relevant and aligned with your goals. No more. Last updated in 2021 footers.

Need to swap out an image? Easy! Click on the image block, then choose image. You can upload a new one or pick something already in your media library. Adjust for focal point if needed. This tells the system which part of the image should stay visible even when it crops on mobile.

Now let's talk about your hero banner. That big, bold section at the top of your home page. Want it to rotate between slides? Well just add more than one image. You can click add slide. Upload your image and add a headline or a button if needed. Drag to reorder and then publish.

Have a page with FAQs or lots of info? That's where accordions come in. Find your accordion block. Click on a section to edit or hit Add Accordion item to create a new one. Give it a title so your question and fill in the answer underneath.

Want to add a blog post or news article? Go to your news or blog section and click Create. Add your title, the content and pop in the author's name. Save and publish and your live.

If you need a brand new page, say for a new initiative or team, right click on the section you want it to live under and hit create. Choose the type of page you want. Give it a name and add your content. Save and publish when you're ready. Or if you want something similar to an existing page, just copy and paste it using actions Copy.

And finally, once you've made your changes, don't forget to publish. You can save to keep things in draft, save and publish to make it live instantly or schedule if you want it to go live later.
