How good an answer you get from SwiftFox AI depends mostly on how precisely it knows what you are talking about. Describing a record in a sentence leaves room for the wrong match; attaching the record itself leaves none.
There are three ways context gets into a conversation: SwiftFox AI picks it up from the page you are on, you attach it deliberately, or you tag a person as you type.
Context from the page you are on
When you open SwiftFox AI while looking at a particular record — an event, a person, an email — that record is attached to the conversation for you. A chip appears above the composer reading From page, followed by the record's name.
That label is there so you can always tell what you attached on purpose from what SwiftFox added for you.
Most of the time this is exactly what you want: if you are asking a question while looking at a record, that record is usually the subject of the question, and having it attached saves you searching for something already on your screen.
If it is not relevant, select the × on the chip to remove it. There is no harm in leaving it in place.
Attaching records yourself
Select Add to chat — the + at the left of the composer — to attach a record deliberately. The options are:
- Add person
- Add organisation
- Add list
- Add email
- Add event
- Add image
- Screen capture
The first five open a picker with a search field and a Recent section listing records you have worked with lately. Choose a type, search, and select the record you mean. Anything you add becomes context for that conversation.
Screen capture is offered in the drawer and from the Home page prompt bar. It is not offered on the SwiftFox AI page, where there is no other screen to capture.
Why attach rather than describe
Say you want everyone on your Premium Members list invited to your members charity night. You could describe both in a sentence and hope SwiftFox AI finds the right ones. Or you can attach the list and the event, then simply say add this list to this event — and it already has the exact records. It is quicker, and it removes the guesswork.
As a habit: any time your request depends on a specific record, attach the record.
Tagging a person with @
Type @ in the composer, followed by a name, and a list of matching people appears. Select one to tag them inline in your sentence. The composer prompts you with Type @ to tag.
@ matches people only. Typing an organisation or list name after @ returns No results — use Add to chat for organisations, lists, emails and events.
Images and screen capture
SwiftFox AI can read images as well as text, which changes what you can ask for help with.
Add image attaches an image file from your computer, so you can ask a question about something you can show more easily than describe.
Screen capture grabs what is on your screen and attaches it. It is most useful when you are stuck and do not have the words for the problem. You are part-way through building an email, something is stopping you sending it, and it is not obvious what — open SwiftFox AI, use Screen capture, and ask why you cannot send. It reads the capture, checks the relevant help material, and points you at the step that needs attention.
Good to know
- Attached context applies to the conversation, not to a single message — follow-up questions still have it.
- Starting a New Chat clears the attached context along with the conversation.
- SwiftFox AI only ever sees records you have permission to see, whether you attach them or it picks them up from the page.
