025-03 Setting up your DNS records
Things have changed
00:00:00:12 - 00:00:17:02
Emails work best when they're trusted. DNS authentication tells the internet that SwiftFox can send on your organisation's behalf. In a few minutes, you'll know why this matters, what your IT team needs from you, and how to confirm everything is green ticked and ready to send.
00:00:17:06 - 00:00:30:36
Why does DNS authentication matter? Well, your DNS records tell the internet that SwiftFox is authorised to send emails from your organisation. Without this step, emails may land in junk or fail to send entirely.
00:00:30:40 - 00:00:53:38
Here's how to get started. Navigate to settings, then select Email Settings. Select Add Domain and enter your primary domain. For example, ours is swiftfoxcrm.com. SwiftFox will instantly display the DNS records you need. Copy those records exactly as they appear and send them to your IT provider or IT team.
00:00:53:42 - 00:01:11:11
Your IT team will add these DNS records into your domain host such as GoDaddy, Cloudflare, or Net Registry. Once those records are added, return to SwiftFox and select verify. If everything is correct, you'll see green ticks and your domain will be fully authenticated.
00:01:11:15 - 00:01:18:48
You're good to go. Once you see green ticks, your domain is authenticated, deliverability improves, and automations are ready.
00:01:19:02 - 00:01:28:45
Next steps send a test email from the email builder to confirm inbox placement. Set your domain as the default sender in email settings.
