When you open a visit, the addresses are presented in an order designed to make an on-foot run as efficient as possible. You do not have to plan the route yourself — SwiftFox structures it for you, based on the grouping you chose when you built the list.
How addresses are grouped
The Group addresses by setting is chosen in the Visit List Wizard at Step 2 (Address type selection). You pick one of:
- Street (the default) — addresses are grouped by street.
- Suburb — addresses are grouped by suburb, so you work one area at a time.
This grouping is what you see in the left Locations panel of the Visit Entry screen when you work the run.
Address ordering within a group
Within each group, addresses are ordered to mirror how you actually walk a street — down one side and back up the other — by separating odd-numbered and even-numbered houses. This odds/evens ordering is built in and automatic; it is not a setting you choose, so there is nothing to configure.
Working the route
- In the left Locations panel, expand the street (or suburb) you want to work.
- Pick an address from the list.
- Record what happened at that address, then move to the next one in the list.
Notes
- The only ordering choice you make is Group addresses by: Street or Suburb, set in the builder. Everything else — including the odds/evens sequencing within a group — is automatic.
- As you record outcomes, each address shows a status badge in the Locations panel (for example, Not visited), so you can see what remains in each street or suburb.
