Posts can be edited or deleted after they're published, provided you have the right permissions. Moderation is handled from the 3-dot menu on each individual Post.

Edit or delete a Post

  1. Hover over the Post in the Activity Feed to reveal its 3-dot menu (top-right of the Post).
  2. Click the 3-dot menu.
  3. Choose Edit to change the Post's content, or Delete to remove it. (The same menu also offers Create a task.)

Permissions

Moderating Posts is permission-based:

  • Editing and deleting a Post requires the appropriate permissions. If you don't see the Edit or Delete options in the 3-dot menu, you don't have rights to moderate that Post.
  • The same permission model governs who can view a Post — at the time of posting you set the audience via the Edit permissions panel (Everyone, Current Circle, Only me, or named users, user groups, or circles; see Creating a post), and only those users will see it in their feed.

Editing vs the audience setting

  • Edit changes the Post's text, tags, attachments, addresses, or @mentions.
  • To change who can see an existing Post, edit it and adjust the audience via the Edit permissions panel.

What to keep in mind

  • Deletion is removal from the feed — the Post (and its position on any tagged Contact's profile) goes away. Delete with care.
  • System posts are generated automatically by other modules; treat them as a record of activity rather than something to routinely edit. If your feed is cluttered with them, use the feed filters to hide them instead of deleting (see Filtering the Activity Feed).
  • Because edits to shared homepage pages apply to everyone, remember that moderating Posts affects what all permitted users see in the shared feed.
