Login portal — Overview

SwiftFox’s Login portal lets contacts self‑serve sign‑in, edit profiles, manage subscriptions, pay, and register for events.

ID:
348

The Login portal is SwiftFox's self-service area for your contacts. It lets the people and organisations in your Contacts sign in to a secure web portal where they can view and update their own details, manage subscriptions and payments, register for events, and see content you choose to expose. Everything members can see and do in the portal is controlled centrally from Settings → Features → Login Portal.

The portal is designed to reduce manual admin: instead of your team updating member records, processing renewals, or recording event RSVPs by hand, members self-serve through the portal and the changes flow straight back into SwiftFox.

What members can do in the portal

  • Sign in securely using their email address, an optional Secondary ID (such as a member number), and passwordless login.
  • View and edit the profile and address fields you expose, including selected Custom Fields.
  • View organisation details linked to their record.
  • View and manage the subscriptions you make available, including plan add-ons and options.
  • See their financial history through the Subscriptions, Invoices and Receipts tables.
  • Register for events using the RSVP options you allow.

What administrators control

All portal behaviour is configured under Settings → Features → Login Portal, which is divided into these sub-pages:

  • Login Access — how members sign in (Secondary ID and which field displays organisation details).
  • Portal Access Permissions — login groups built with a mini List Builder, synced to Umbraco to secure website pages.
  • Profile Fields — which profile, address and custom fields are visible and editable.
  • Subscription Management — which subscriptions, add-ons and financial table columns appear.
  • Portal Events — which RSVP options members can use when registering.

How the portal connects to the rest of SwiftFox

  • The portal reads from and writes back to your Contacts, so member self-service edits update the underlying records.
  • Portal login groups are synced to Umbraco, which then controls which website pages each group can access.
  • Subscription and payment self-service is tied to your Finance data (subscriptions, invoices and receipts).
  • Event registration through the portal uses your event RSVP options.

Permissions

Access to configure the portal is governed by the Membership Portal permission in Settings → Users & access → User groups. If you cannot see the Login Portal settings, ask your system administrator to grant your user group the relevant permission.
