Once a Post is in the Activity Feed, you and other permitted users can engage with it. There are three core interactions: react, comment, and create a Task.
React to a Post
Under any Post, click the react (emoji) icon to add a reaction. Reactions are a lightweight way to acknowledge a Post without writing a comment.
Comment on a Post
- Under the Post, click comment.
- Type your comment.
- You can @mention a Contact in a comment — mentioning a User triggers a notification (a comment tag) so they're alerted to the conversation.
- Submit the comment.
Comments keep discussion attached to the Post, so the full thread of a conversation stays in one place in the feed.
Create a Task from a Post
Under a Post you can create a Task directly — via the tick icon in the Post's action row, or the Create a task option in the Post's 3-dot menu. This turns a Post into actionable follow-up:
- Under the Post, click the tick icon, or open the 3-dot menu and choose Create a task.
- Fill in the Task details and assignee.
- Save the Task.
The assignee receives a notification, and the Task appears in their My Tasks widget. This is the fastest way to move from "something happened" (the Post) to "someone needs to do something" (the Task) without leaving the feed.
Notifications from interactions
- Being @mentioned in a comment generates a notification (comment tag) for the tagged User.
- Being assigned a Task created from a Post generates a Task-assignment notification.
All of these appear in the top-right notifications area and in the Notifications widget if it is on the recipient's homepage.
