This reference covers the operational (non-financial) Action Centre types: Cases, Data Table, Posts, Organisations, Goals, Goal Activities, and Form Responses. Each draws from the same underlying profile data and custom fields, and each adds settings specific to its purpose. For the generic create flow, see Creating an Action Centre (generic flow) & permissions.
Cases
The Cases Action Centre is a system-wide hub for every case in your account. From the table you can filter, open and edit cases, and add related records. On the Columns step you can add case custom fields as extra columns via Add column (with an optional column label), so their values show in the table, can be filtered, and are included in exports.
File upload fields are available as columns as well. That column gives you the attachment itself — depending on the file type you can view it in place or download it — rather than a value, so its purpose is reaching the file straight from the table. Cases also have a separate built-in Attachments column for files attached to the case; a file upload custom field column is a different thing, and shows only what was uploaded into that field. Creating a Cases Action Centre with its own default filters and columns is how accounts build custom case views alongside the built-in case lists — for the full walkthrough see Custom case views in the Action Centre.
- Choose the Cases type.
- (Optional) Configure Default Filters so the table opens pre-filtered (for example to open cases, or cases of a particular type).
- Set Permissions and click Save.
In the table you can:
- Open and edit individual cases.
- Add posts, tasks and comments to a case.
- Filter and sort to focus on the cases you need.
Data Table (People / Organisation)
The Data Table Action Centre unifies a single selected People or Organisation data table across all profiles in your account, so you can review every entry in one place.
Columns. On the builder's Columns step you'll see the Default columns (those already configured on the data table) plus Customisable columns. Use Add column to add extra columns pulled from the profile each row belongs to — choose a field (profile fields such as First name, Last name or Date of birth, or any custom field on the profile) and optionally set a Column label to rename the heading; drag columns to reorder. Because every data-table row sits on an individual contact, these added fields resolve to that contact, letting you combine the data table's own fields with other profile data for a fuller view or extra reporting.
- Choose the Data Table type.
- Select the specific data table to surface.
- (Optional) Set Default Filters (for example date ranges or particular field values). Filters can include Record custom fields (such as an organisation record selector), with search-as-you-type suggestions, so you can narrow the table to entries linked to a specific record.
- Click Save.
- View the unified table and use the standard table controls; Export to CSV if required.
Note: a single profile can appear on multiple rows. Data tables support a flexible number of entries per profile, so each entry becomes its own row.
Posts
The Posts Action Centre presents a table of all posts in your account. On the Columns step you can add post custom fields as extra columns via Add column (with an optional column label); values then show in the table, can be filtered, and are included in exports.
File upload fields are available as columns as well. That column gives you the attachment itself — depending on the file type you can view it in place or download it — rather than a value, so its purpose is reaching the file straight from the table. See Posts — Custom fields.
- Choose the Posts type.
- (Optional) Set defaults for Date / Date Occurred and Assigned Tags to focus the view.
- Set Permissions and click Save.
Use the table to review posts, filter by date and tags, sort, and export.
Goals
The Goals Action Centre gives a per-person summary of goals and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) targets.
- Choose the Goals type.
- Set Permissions and click Save.
Use the table to monitor, per person:
- Targets and requirements they are working toward.
- Points achieved against those targets.
- Overall progress.
Filter and export as needed.
Goal Activities
The Goal Activities Action Centre is the detailed, activity-level view that sits behind the Goals summary. It lists the individual activities contributing to people's goals/CPD and supports approvals.
- Choose the Goal Activities type.
- (Optional) Set default filters such as Source, Status, Type of CPD, and Date Occurred.
- Set Permissions and click Save.
- Review activities in the table and approve them where approval is required.
Form Responses
The Form Responses Action Centre turns submissions for a chosen form into a table, with the specific questions you select as columns.
- Choose the Form Responses type.
- Select the Form whose responses you want to review.
- Click Add Column and, for each column you want:
- Select the Form Question to display.
- Set a Column Label (a custom heading for that column).
- Click Save.
As the form is filled out, submissions populate the table as new rows. Filter, sort and export the responses as needed.
Organisations
The Organisations Action Centre is a dedicated space for browsing every organisation in your account and visually mapping their related-organisation hierarchy. It's best set up as its own standalone area so nothing competes with it for space.
- Choose the Organisations type.
- Set Permissions and click Save.
Once created, it opens with a searchable left-hand list of every organisation; selecting one opens its profile inline, and organisations with related orgs show a drop-down that maps out their parent/child hierarchy. For the full walkthrough — the organisation list, opening a profile inline, the hierarchy drop-down and sharing a view by its URL — see Organisation Action Centre.
