Posts are short updates that live in the Activity Feed — a social-style stream where you and your colleagues record notes, share files, log addresses, and keep a running history of activity across your SwiftFox account. The Activity Feed is one of the widgets you can add to a homepage, and it is the central place where Posts are read, created, and filtered.
What a Post is
A Post is a single entry in the Activity Feed. Every Post can include:
- A date and time (defaults to now, but can be back-dated or scheduled).
- Text content.
- @mentions of Contacts — People, Users, or Organisations.
- Attachments (files) and addresses (locations).
- One or more tags for classification and filtering.
- View permissions — shared with Everyone, your Current Circle, Only me, or specific users, user groups, or circles.
Once posted, a Post can be reacted to, commented on, turned into a Task, edited, or deleted (subject to permissions).
Two kinds of Posts
The Activity Feed contains two distinct types of entry:
- User posts — created manually by people in your account through the post composer.
- System posts — generated automatically when actions happen elsewhere in SwiftFox, such as a member portal update, a form submission, or an email send.

Where Posts appear
- Activity Feed widget — the main stream on any homepage that has the widget added.
- Contact profiles — when you @mention a Person, User, or Organisation, the Post is added to the Posts tab on that Contact's profile.
- Lists (List Builder) and a Posts action centre — Posts with tags become filterable and can be segmented for follow-up. See Posts and the Posts Action Centre / List Builder.
Who can see a Post
Visibility is permission-based. By default a Post is visible to Everyone in your account, but when composing you can open the Edit permissions panel and restrict it to your Current Circle, Only me, or named users, user groups, or circles (each at View only or Full Access). Editing or deleting a Post also requires the appropriate permissions.
Key relationships
- Activity Feed ↔ Profiles: @mentioning a Contact places the Post on that Contact's Posts tab and (for Users) triggers a notification.
- Activity Feed ↔ Lists / a Posts action centre: tagged Posts can be filtered and segmented.
- Activity Feed ↔ the rest of SwiftFox: system posts surface activity from forms, the member portal, emails, and other modules directly in the feed.
