Access to Emails depends on two things: the feature being enabled for your account, and your user group granting it.
If you can't see Emails
If Emails doesn't appear in the left-hand menu, you don't have access. This is the first thing to check before troubleshooting anything else in the email workflow. Contact a system administrator to confirm:
- the Emails feature is active on your account, and
- your user group grants access to it.
The permissions that govern Emails
User groups are managed in Settings → User groups, described there as "Control what each group of users can see and do." Permissions are grouped by area; the ones under Email are:
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Emails | Access to the email builder |
| Send Emails | Send, schedule, or delete email campaigns |
| Send Individual Email | Send or delete an email to an individual contact |
These are separate, so a user can be given the builder without being able to send. If someone can open a campaign but not send it, check Send Emails.
Dashboards is a separate feature, with its own permission
Reporting dashboards are not part of Emails. They are their own feature with their own permission, listed under Dashboard:
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Access to dashboards |
So a user can have full access to Emails and still not see Dashboards in the left-hand menu, and vice versa — the two are unrelated. See the Dashboards guides for what that feature covers.
Related access controls
- Campaign categories can be restricted. In Settings → Campaign categories, each category carries an Access list built from users, user groups or circles, each at Full Access, View and Edit or View only. If a colleague cannot find a category you expect on Step 1 (Campaign), check whether that category's Access excludes them. This is separate from a category's Internal status, which controls what recipients see rather than what your team can use.
- Send to unsubscribed contacts, on Step 2 (Recipients) of the campaign builder, should be restricted to users who understand the legal obligations involved (see Limitations & best practice).
