Data Widget (showing a Dashboard widget on your Home page)

The Data Widget puts a single widget from one of your Dashboards onto a Home page, so a chart or figure you check often sits alongside your other Home page widgets instead of only inside the dashboard.

Each Data Widget shows one dashboard widget. Add several Data Widgets if you want several figures on the page.

There are two ways to get a dashboard widget onto a Home page:

• From the Home page — add a Data Widget and choose the dashboard and widget it should show. That is the flow below.
• From the dashboard — use Add to Home Screen on the widget itself. See Adding a widget to a Home page.

Adding a Data Widget

1. Open the Home page tab you want to add it to — My homepage or a shared page — using the tabs along the bottom of the page.
2. Click Add widget in the bottom-right and choose Data Widget.
3. The tile is placed on the page titled Data widget, showing Please select a widget from a dashboard, and its Settings panel opens.
4. Under Choose which dashboard and widget to show, complete the three fields:
   • Widget name — the title the tile will carry on your Home page. This is yours to choose; it does not have to match the widget's name on the dashboard.
   • Dashboard — the dashboard the widget lives on. The list offers only the dashboards you have access to.
   • Widget — one of the widgets on that dashboard. This list fills once a dashboard is chosen.
5. Click Update. The tile refreshes and shows the live widget under the name you gave it.
6. Drag the tile's header to position it and drag its bottom-right corner to size it, then save the layout from the 3-dot menu at the end of the tab bar (Edit current page → Save). See Widgets: adding, arranging, resizing and saving layout.

The Update button only appears once you have selected a widget, so if you cannot see it, check that both Dashboard and Widget are filled in.

Changing what a Data Widget shows

1. Click the 3-dot menu in the tile's top-right to reopen Settings.
2. Change the Widget name, the Dashboard, or the Widget.
3. Click Update.

Changing the dashboard clears the widget selection, so choose the widget again before updating.

Removing a Data Widget

Open the tile's Settings and click Delete this widget. The tile is removed straight away — there is no confirmation step, so be sure before you click it.

This differs from the other Home page widgets, which are removed with a Remove widget button at the foot of their Settings panel.

Notes

• The Dashboard list reflects your own access. A dashboard you cannot open will not appear.
• The tile shows the widget as it stands on the dashboard. To filter or explore the underlying data, open the dashboard itself — see Filtering a dashboard.
• Not every dashboard widget is supported on a Home page. If a widget you have added does not load, it is not currently supported; support may be enabled for it later.
• On a shared Home page, adding or removing a tile changes the page for everyone who can see it once the layout is saved.
