Swift Search is the global search for finding Contacts anywhere in SwiftFox. It sits in the top-right of the screen and is available from any page.
Opening Swift Search
- Click Swift Search in the top-right of the screen.
- Begin typing your search term.
What you can search by
Swift Search looks across a wide range of contact data:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Address
- Any custom field that has been enabled for Swift Search
To make a custom field searchable, enable Swift Search on that field when managing custom fields (see Custom fields and sections). Text fields in particular can be flagged to appear in Swift Search.
Reading the results
Results are grouped so you can jump straight to the right record type. Use the tabs at the top of the results to filter — each shows a count of matches:
- All — every match across the types below.
- People — matching individual contacts.
- Organisations — matching group records.
- Posts — matching posts.
Select a result to open that contact's profile.
Finding contacts elsewhere
Beyond global Swift Search, the same lookup behaviour appears anywhere a contact field exists in the platform — for example when adding recipients to a campaign, tagging a contact in a post, or linking a Person to an Organisation. Start typing and choose from the matching People or Organisations. When tagging contacts in posts, searching record fields, or tagging contacts in tasks, these pickers now also show your account's configured Swift badge details (such as custom fields, addresses and category types) beside each result, so you can be confident you're selecting the right person.
Tips
- If a contact isn't appearing by a particular detail, confirm that detail is stored on the record and, for custom fields, that Swift Search is enabled on the field.
- Searching by address or phone can be a fast way to disambiguate people with similar names.
