How do I control who can access the Login portal?
Build login groups using the mini List Builder in Settings → Features → Login Portal → Portal Access Permissions, click Sync membership groups to publish them to Umbraco, then use Umbraco to grant page access to those groups.
How do members sign in?
Members use passwordless login — they enter their identifier (email address, plus a Secondary ID such as a member number if you have configured one) and complete sign-in via a secure single-use link, so there are no member passwords to manage.
Can I let members log in with their member number?
Yes. In Login Portal → Login Access, choose a Secondary ID (for example, member number) from the dropdown and Save. Members can then identify themselves using that ID in addition to their email address.
Can members edit their own details?
Yes, for any field you expose under Login Portal → Profile Fields with Allow edit ticked. You control which profile, address and custom fields are visible and which are editable.
Can members edit custom fields in the portal?
Yes, for custom fields you expose under Profile Fields → Additional Details with Allow edit ticked — but non-text custom fields are view-only. Only text custom fields can be edited by members.
How do I let members manage subscriptions online?
In Login Portal → Subscription Management, tick Available in Portal for the subscriptions (and any add-ons or options) you want to expose. Then use Configure Financial Tables to choose which columns appear in the Subscriptions, Invoices and Receipts tables.
What financial information can members see?
Members can see the Subscriptions, Invoices and Receipts tables, limited to the columns you enable. Options include plan, cost, arrears, auto-renew status and dates for subscriptions; invoice date, number, total, method and status for invoices; and payment date, receipt number, total, type and status for receipts.
How do members register for events through the portal?
Members register through the portal using the RSVP options you enable in Login Portal → Portal Events. Those options come from your event configuration in Settings → Features → Events.
Why can't I see the Login Portal settings?
You need the Membership Portal permission. Ask your system administrator to enable it for your user group in Settings → Users & access → User groups.
What is the Umbraco sync for?
Umbraco is the CMS that powers your portal-enabled website. Syncing your login groups to Umbraco lets you secure individual website pages so only members of the chosen groups can access them. Re-run Sync membership groups after changing your groups.
Why can't I find my custom field in the login portal dropdown?
There are two likely reasons. If the field was created recently it may not have synced yet — this usually takes a few minutes, and signing out and back in forces a re-sync. Otherwise, the field type may not be supported in the login portal for that option; not every custom field type can be used there.
