optimise Home page layout, manage widget limits, set permissions and save customisations for team dashboards

Keep these constraints and recommendations in mind to get the most from the Home page and avoid surprises — especially when working with shared pages and permission-based widgets.

Limitations

  • Visibility is permission-based. The Swiftfox Campaign Calendar shows only the Events and Emails you have access to. Items outside your permissions will not appear.
  • Shared-page edits affect everyone. Changes to any page other than My homepage update for everyone who can see that page. Adding, moving, resizing or removing widgets on a shared page changes it for the whole audience.
  • Layout must be saved. Moving and resizing widgets are not persisted until you Save from the tab's 3-dot menu → Edit current page.
  • Some widgets have been retired. The Weather and Notifications widgets can no longer be added. Older accounts that still have them keep them (grandfathered), but they are no longer supported.
  • Deleting a shared page is account-wide. Deleting a shared page removes it for everyone who can see it, so confirm before deleting.

Best practice

  • Use My homepage for personal workflow. Keep your private, day-to-day layout on My homepage so your changes never disrupt colleagues.
  • Use shared pages for team dashboards. Build team-wide views — such as a shared Campaign Calendar or a set of Search Analytics tiles — on a created page, and use Permissions to control who can change it.
  • Set a sensible default page. Use Set as default so the team lands on the most useful shared page at login.
  • Save after rearranging. Always Save from Edit current page once you have arranged widgets, so your layout sticks.
  • Clone proven layouts. Use Clone to spin up a new page from a layout that already works, rather than rebuilding from scratch.
  • Keep Search Analytics focused. Name each widget and data point clearly, and pick distinct colours so charts stay readable as you add more data points.
