General preferences controls how profile information is displayed across the system — profile address behaviour and what details appear when searching for contacts using Swift Search. It sits at Settings → Organisation → General preferences. The screen heading is General preferences and its subtitle reads: Set profile display, contact lookup, and feature folder defaults. It has three tabs: Profile & Display, Contact lookup, and Feature folders.
What you can configure
- Which address type appears at the top of a profile business card.
- The default address type used for maps.
- Whether age is shown in lookups and search results.
- Whether address is shown in lookups and search results.

Configure profile address display
- Go to Settings → Organisation → General preferences.
- Open the Profile & Display tab, which controls what appears on profile business cards and within profile tabs.
- Under Display address information in the top section of a profile, set Address type to choose which address type is shown there.
- Under Default map address, choose a primary address type to display on the map. The address types on offer are the ones your account has configured — for example Street Address or Postal, plus any custom address types.
These settings determine which address is used when opening maps from a profile.
Configure contact lookup display
- Go to Settings → Organisation → General preferences.
- Open the Contact lookup tab. It lets you choose which extra details are shown beside contact names in all lookups and search results (e.g. SwiftSearch).
- Toggle Show age to include a contact's age next to their name in all lookups and search results.
- Toggle Show address to show a contact's primary address below their name in all lookups and search results.
These toggles apply automatically — there is no separate Save button.
Feature folders
