Rows hold the actual records in a project. Each cell respects the type of its column, and rows linked to a Contact through a Record column also appear on that contact's profile.
Add a row
- Open the project table.
- Click Add row (above the table, on the left-hand side).
- Fill in each cell according to its column type — for example, type into a Text column, enter a value in a Number column, pick from a Select column, or set start and end dates in a Timeline column.
Link a Contact in a Record column
- In a Record column, click the cell.
- Search for the contact — People, Organisations or Staff, depending on how the column is configured.
- Select the contact to link it to the row.
- If the column allows it, you can select more than one contact (when Allow multiple is enabled) or create a brand-new contact on the spot (when Allow creation of contacts is enabled).
Where linked rows appear
- When you link a contact through a Record column, the row automatically appears on that contact's profile under the Projects tab.
- This gives anyone viewing the contact a complete picture of the projects they are part of, without having to open each project table.
Pulling contact data into the row
- Once a row is linked to a contact via a single-select Record column (People or Organisations), you can add a linked field column to pull a custom field value from that contact into the row (see Column types).
Tips
- Set up your columns before adding lots of rows, so each cell has the right type from the start.
- Use the Record column for any data that should also be visible on a contact's profile.
